Who can tell me about the Journey that the author J.R.R. Tolkien used to take on a train?

morgannadine1988 asked:

At the moment i’m doing a one minute documentary on Tolkien in my Video production calss and i waould specifically like to know about the train Journey he used to take and wether it had any relevance to any of his novels preferably The Lord of the Rings. It would also be nice if anyone has any info on the contraversy between Tolkien and Lewis on the matter of the powerful Rings and who came up with the idea in an unbiast point of view, i would also like a bibliography of where you got the infomation from so then i can do further research to input in to my proposal. My proposal is meant to be in on Frriday 16th Febuary so the infomation required is urgent.
